TYPING TRAIL

Type to move Ranger along the trail. Learn to touch type!

NEW Learn to touch type with Ranger: the home row first, then every key, capitals, numbers and a whole story. 60 trails plus a daily trail.

Ranger is out on a hike, and every key you type right moves him one step along the trail. Type a whole word and he picks up a bone. The gold key on the keyboard shows what to press next, and each key's color shows which finger should press it, so good habits come from the very first trail.

Sixty trails in six areas teach touch typing in order: the home row, the top row, the bottom row, capitals with Shift, numbers and marks, and finally a story told one sentence at a time. Paws reward being right first and fast second. Works best with a real keyboard on a computer or Chromebook, and the keys on the screen work on phones and tablets too. A new daily trail every day.

How to play

Rest your fingers on the home row: A S D F and J K L ;. Feel the bumps on F and J.
Type the gold letter. The key's color shows which finger to use; thumbs press the space bar.
A wrong key doesn't move Ranger: find the right one and keep going.
Capitals: hold Shift with the pinky of your other hand (on the screen keys, tap Shift first).
Paws: one for finishing, one more for 95% right, one more for the area's goal speed. Finish 6 trails to open the next area.

A real keyboard: just type. Esc pauses. Finger or mouse: tap the keys on the screen (tap Shift first for a capital).
